A collaboration with artist Virgil Baruchel and performer Benjamin Kamino, youcantseeusbutweseeyou is an experimental installation and performance in which light, movement, camouflage and sound usher the viewer into a space where beauty and discomfort dance.
As part of this iteration of the project I transformed Virgil's large-scale paintings of flowers into loudspeakers in order to activate them with a kind of sound camouflage created using a similar algorithmic principals that the paintings are made with. Both installation and performance (featuring Benjamin Kamino) explored perceptual slippages between looking and listening, light and bodies.
