Christopher Willes a composer and sound artist based in Toronto. Across the intersections of music, performance, and audio-art his work includes chamber music, performance works, electronic music, audio-installations, and sound scores for theatre, dance, and film. He studied music at the University of Toronto, and is currently a completing an MFA at the Milton Avery Graduate School, Bard College.
His music and audio installations have been presented at the Music Gallery, the Toronto Nuit Blanche Festival, labspace, Manhattan School of Music, The X-Avant Festival and Gallery 345. Recent collaborations include projects with Dancemakers, Andrea Spaziani, Soft Matter, Julia Male, Small Wooden Shoe, and urbanvessel among others. Music/sound credits in film include “Akasha” with animator/director Evan Derushie which was presented at NFB/ONF Mediatheque, and LOIKKA dance film festival (Helsinki).
